Liquidware Announces New Customers and a Strong First-Half-Year

Mohela, University Center at Ponca City, and Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf Lean on Liquidware to Achieve App Layering, Security, and Manage High-Performance Desktops

Chicago, IL. – July 31, 2018Liquidware, the leading third-party provider of platform-agnostic end-user computing solutions, today announced a strong half-year performance and major customer wins that demonstrate the unmatched abilities of its ProfileUnity, FlexApp and Stratusphere UX solutions. Liquidware products not only liberate desktops from on-prem to the cloud but also manage high-performance, balance security with personalization, and stretch resources via application layering. Federal student loan processor, Mohela, collaborative education facility, University Center at Ponca City, and architectural firm, Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf, are the latest in a long string of Liquidware success stories.

H1 2018 has been a record half-year for the company, which saw Q2 bookings increase 62% year-on-year, bringing H1 bookings to a healthy improvement of 37% over the same period last year. Leading this growth was a la carte product sales, with ProfileUnity leading the charge with a sales increase of 68%, followed by Stratusphere UX to the tune of 58%. New licenses were up 37% in this period while renewals stayed strong and consistent.

Customer Wins

Mohela

Mohela’s years of virtual desktop management experience were insufficient to help it overcome the pitfalls of Windows 10 migration, because the new OS includes major changes to the manner in which user profiles are created and managed. As a result, its user profiles, which were stored on persistent virtual machines, would frequently corrupt after migrating to Windows 10. According to Gary Bollman, assistant director of IT at Mohela, the migration was initially a step backward for users and presented serious challenges to the organization’s ability to remain compliant with the federally mandated NIST 800-53 security framework.

“Secure, personalized non-persistent desktops represented the Holy Grail of where we wanted to get, and ProfileUnity was the solution that got us there,” said Bollman. “We looked at profile management tools from Microsoft and VMware, but neither could provide the levels of reliability and security that we require. They were 80 percent and 90 percent solutions. Only ProfileUnity gave us 100 percent.”

University Center at Ponca City

University Center at Ponca City found that basic PC support requirements were eating up the lion’s share of its allocated IT resources. With 60 workstations serving staff and students taking courses from four partner colleges and universities, the organization reached an impasse between its diverse needs and limited resources. A solution came in the form of a VMware-based virtual infrastructure with Liquidware Essentials providing the foundation for virtual environment management.

Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf

Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf employs a strategy of frequent upgrades and customization of its software applications and workstations. To facilitate that strategy, the company migrated its professional staff to non-persistent virtual desktops and introduced Liquidware Essentials in order to gain greater visibility and control over the environment than it was able to achieve with this new infrastructure’s built-in Citrix tools alone.

“At Liquidware, our passion is to provide a seamless experience to each and every customer. Whether a federal contractor, university or design firm, we aim to streamline IT operations and allow companies to re-engineer a desktop with the speed and efficiency needed to sustain its output,” said Chris Akerberg, COO and President of Liquidware.

ProfileUnity is a user environment management (UEM) solution that removes the need for roaming profiles and basic profile tools, and delivers zero user downtime migrations to Windows 10, Server 2016, and all leading DaaS platforms. Among its distinctive features, it allows enterprises to natively host user profiles on enterprise grade cloud storage like Amazon S3, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure Blob Storage. FlexApp is Liquidware’s application layering software that delivers applications instantly to any Windows desktop environment, regardless and independently of the operating system version in use. The solution is optimized for VDI and DaaS desktops from Citrix and VMware, for Microsoft RDS/RDmi and Citrix XenApp environments, as well as Amazon WorkSpaces, and physical desktops. The platform-agnostic Stratusphere UX solution delivers user-point-of-view visibility into desktop environments that supports assessment, design, monitoring and diagnostics, and minimizes unknowns and risks. Combined, ProfileUnity, FlexApp and Stratusphere UX form the Liquidware Essentials bundle.
