The Next Wave of AVD and Windows 365 Is Already Here

It's now beyond the basic use cases - Enterprises are coming online quickly.

EUC World short version

Something has shifted in the enterprise desktop, and it is happening fast. Microsoft now leads most of the conversations we have with customers. The AVD and Windows 365 install base, especially in the enterprise, is growing quickly and it is not slowing down. Native AVD, AVD hybrid (which went GA today), and Windows 365 are all seeing a real wave of adoption right now. If your organization is not actively looking at AVD and Windows 365 yet, the rest of the market already is.

I have had a front row seat to this shift. Today marks 17 years since I joined Liquidware, through its acquisition of ProfileUnity, a product I co-owned, back when Citrix and VMware (now Omnissa) were racing for the desktop and the whole industry was centered on VDI and server based computing. Those two were the stalwarts of that era, and I have spent most of my time here leading marketing and alliances. Wow, what a difference 17 years makes.

Even in recent months, we have seen more and more large organizations adopt FlexApp, ProfileUnity, and Stratusphere UX alongside AVD and Windows 365. They are choosing modern app delivery with FlexApp because there is absolutely nothing like it in the industry. FlexApp makes application delivery instant. So, instead of waiting on the deployment cycles that come with Intune, applications are there the moment a user needs them, attached and running as if they were natively installed, across AVD, Windows 365, and physical Windows alike. For enterprises trying to move fast, that speed changes everything.

And FlexApp is only part of the story. ProfileUnity takes profiles and personas well beyond what Group Policy can do, so users get a consistent, personalized experience wherever they log in, and IT gets far more control than native tooling allows. Stratusphere UX gives you the baselining, planning, and monitoring to migrate with confidence and keep the experience high once you are live. Then there's CommandCTRL, which adds real-time remediation, so when something goes wrong you fix it in the moment. Put it all together and I have to ask, could there be a better suite match for AVD and Windows 365?

And if you know us, you know we are just getting started with what we do here. We have been heads down on a wave of innovations I cannot wait to show you. Stay tuned over the next few months.

You can see some of it first hand very soon. On September 24, I am hosting a webinar, Microsoft AVD vs. Windows 365: Which Should You Choose?, with Microsoft's Megan Gremmell, Windows Cloud ISV Strategy and Ecosystem Lead, and Michelle Aceves, Product Manager. If you are weighing those two options, this is the session to help you decide.

I will also be at EUC World Amplify 2026 in Milwaukee, where Liquidware is a premier sponsor. Catch my session, The Next Wave of AVD and Windows 365 Adoption, on Tuesday, September 29 at 10:30 a.m., for a look at what is driving this wave and how we are making enterprise scale deployment easier. Our suite supports any of these models, and it still supports legacy Citrix and Omnissa environments too, so you are covered wherever you are on the journey.

Seventeen years in, I am as energized about this industry as I have ever been. Come see why.
